If you thought the only thing you could do with your eyeliner was simply wing it, think again. These days beauty influencers and celebs are getting more and more creative with their makeup looks, and one trend that we’re seeing a lot more of in 2022 is bold and dramatic graphic eyeliner. From fierce flicks in every colour of the rainbow to eye-opening abstract designs, classic eyeliner has had a major makeover and, quite frankly, we’re here for it.
If you’d like to try the look yourself, we suggest taking inspiration from celebrities like Millie Bobby Brown and Michelle Keegan who have each shared their own take on the trend recently. Michelle, 34, is famed for her soft glam makeup looks, but in a recent Instagram post shared by her go-to MUA Emily Clarkson, the former Coronation Street actress is seen sporting a subtle graphic liner with an exaggerated wing that gives her eyes a cat-like look.
Emily captions the short clip: “A little graphic liner moment for Keegs today!” The star’s feline flick begins with a classic wing, but instead of stopping there, the liner continues back into her crease. Michelle also appears to be wearing faux lashes on the outer corners of her eyes, which gives them an all-round flattering finish.
Although slightly similar, Millie Bobby Brown’s graphic liner is more reminiscent of Twiggy’s iconic look in the sixties – or indeed Ariana Grande’s modernised version today – with the liner following the natural shape of the crease rather than lifting upwards for a feline flick.
