Comedian Michael McIntyre has had to cancel a gig at the last minute due to an unexpected surgery.
The 48 year old is currently on his world tour, named Magnificent, which has already taken him across the globe over the past year and is set to continue until the beginning of September. He's already performed in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Asia, New Zealand, the UAE, the USA and parts of Europe, and also still has shows lined up in the UK, Ireland and other European countries like Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden.
But sadly, fans who were hoping to see him perform in Southampton have been given some disappointing news - the show has been cancelled. On Sunday, Michael and his team took to social media to inform fans about the sudden change in plans.
They reassured ticket holders that they would still get to see him perform on a rescheduled date.
They also shared an update via X with all the details and apologised to those who were upset by the cancellation, reports The Mirror Online.
The statement read: "We regret to inform customers that Michael McIntyre will be unable to perform on Monday 4 March at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton. "Unfortunately, Michael has had an operation to remove kidney stones.
The show will be rescheduled to a later date which will be announced shortly.
Tickets will remain valid for the new date.
If you are unable to make the new date you will be entitled to a refund. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused." Fans were quick to send their well wishes and share their own experiences with kidney stones.
