Showcasing Oscar contenders at these annual events is going to be much more difficult now that SAG-AFTRA has joined the WGA on the picket lines. “You can’t premiere movies anywhere without your stars,” the executive said. “No stars, no movie.” And SAG-AFTRA has made it clear that its members are not to do any promotional activity around their movies until a new contract deal is reached and ratified. So that means that the red carpets that make these festivals massive media events will be significantly less celebrity-studded. So why would studios shell out hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars, to launch a movie at one of these gatherings?

Gayle King is sharing her perspective on her recent interview with Robert De Niro's girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, who opened up to the broadcast journalist about the scary postpartum complication she endured after giving birth to the 79-year-old Oscar-winning actor's seventh child. On Thursday,  shared a preview clip of King's interview with Chen, where the 45-year-old reveals that she developed Bell's palsy, a medical condition that causes facial paralysis, after welcoming her and De Niro's daughter, Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro, in April. According to the Mayo Clinic, Bell's palsy is «a condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face. In most cases, the weakness is temporary and significantly improves over weeks. The weakness makes half of the face appear to droop.

Over the past several years, Neon is a distributor that has earned a reputation for consistently releasing some of the best films each year. Last year, Neon released a number of acclaimed features including “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed” and “Triangle of Sadness,” for example.

Brent Lang Executive Editor Neon has acquired “Ferrari,” the next film from Michael Mann. It will release the drama in theaters nationwide on Christmas Day. The film, Mann’s first since 2015’s “Blackhat,” will star Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari and Penélope Cruz as his wife, Laura Ferrari. The ensemble includes Shailene Woodley, Jack O’Connell, Sarah Gadon, Patrick Dempsey and Gabriel Leone. According to an official description, the film is set during the summer of 1957 and follows Enzo Ferrari as he deals with the possible bankruptcy of his company, as well as his stormy marriage and the death of his son. Against that backdrop, Ferrari wagers everything on one race, the 1,000-mile trek across Italy, the Mille Miglia.

Robert De Niro attended the funeral for his grandson Leandro De Niro Rodriguez on Friday, five days after the 19-year-old tragically died in New York City. The 79-year-old actor was accompanied by his girlfriend Tiffany Chen and their 3-month-old daughter Gia for the service at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann have decided to call it quits. On Friday, July 7, ET confirmed with Kroy's lawyer, Marlys Berstrom, that both «parties are dismissing divorce action and reconciling.»This news comes after Kim and Kroy filed for divorce on May 5 — shortly after news of their financial and potential legal woes first broke — announcing they wanted to dissolve their marriage of 11 years. Following the divorce filing, things got very messy between the reality TV stars.
