Michael J. Fox has admitted he doesn't expect to reach his 80th birthday due to his ongoing battle with Parkinson's disease. The Back To The Future star, 61, discussed his health in a candid interview which included the topic of his death.
He was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s back in 1991 at the age of just 29 years old. He opted to keep the disease private until going public with it nine years later. Michael has spent decades campaigning, raising awareness and funds for the condition.
He is now embarking on a number of interviews to discuss how his life has been impacted by Parkinson’s. A preview of his CBS Sunday Morning interview has shown him stating: "My life is set up so... I can pack Parkinson's along with me if I have to.” In the clip, the actor explains the disease made him reassess his approach to life.
"You don’t die from Parkinson's. You die with Parkinson’s,” he explains. But he does go on to say that those living with the disease are at risk of injuries, such as falling, choking, or getting sick with a cold which can, in turn, prove fatal.
The interview then turned to his own death. He said: "I've been thinking about the mortality of it… I’m not gonna be 80." When Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson's he only had a "twitch" in his little finger. The Michael J.

He said: “The idea of a biomarker… a way to identify the disease before the disease is present.
