Parts of the UK will see temperatures as high as 20C this afternoon.
Brits living further down south will be treated to the best weather conditions while those further up north will see milder temperatures. However, while conditions will be a lot hotter in the coming days, it does not constitute a true heatwave, according to the Met Office.
This is because conditions must be between 25C and 28C, depending on the region, for three consecutive days. Because of this, the Met Office said that the current "mild spell will not reach 'heatwave' criteria'.

According to the Met Office's weather maps, temperatures will reach 20C along the southeast of England later today at around 3pm. The main areas affected by these high conditions include Norwich, Cambridge, and Ipswich.
Meanwhile, other areas will see relatively high conditions, with London recording 18C and Rochester seeing 19C. These high temperatures will only remain today for a couple of hours, with some areas dropping slightly as the evening approaches.
By 8pm, the southeast will temperatures ranging from 15C to 17C. This will persist well into the night with nighttime temperatures averaging at around 13C and 14C.
On Friday, April 12, temperatures will rise yet again, with Ipswich seeing 20C conditions at around 4pm. Meanwhile, surrounding areas will remain relatively high at 18C and 19C respectively.
