Scotland is set to be battered by powerful gusts up to 65mph this week, according to a new Met Office weather warning.
Dumfries, Galloway and Ayrshire have been placed under a warning on Wednesday, November 2. The Met Office has warned of a spell of 'very strong' wind as gusts reaching 55 to 65mph are expected, especially in exposed coastal locations.
The Met Office has said travel delays are likely and short-term cuts are possible. The strong winds are likely to be accompanied by heavy rain set to lash parts of southwest Scotland, Cumbria and western Wales.
Time: 7am to 6pm on Wednesday, November 2
"A spell of very windy weather is expected to affect Irish Sea coastal areas on Wednesday," reports the Met Office.
