Merlin Inks Global Licensing Deal With TikTok

Stephanie Allain has inked a first-look deal with Warner Horizon Scripted Television, fresh off her recent gig producing the Oscars.

Jason "Poo Bear" Boyd has signed a worldwide publishing deal with peermusic. Among the multi-platinum songwriter/producer’s credits are Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy (Remix),” Justin Bieber’s “Despacito (Remix),” Usher’s “Caught Up” and Chris Brown’s “I Can Transform Ya.”

Justin Bieber collaborator Poo Bear, whose real name is Jason Boyd, has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Peermusic. The songwriter and producer is credited on such hits as Bieber’s “Where Are Ü Now,” “What Do You Mean?” and the remix of Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” featuring Daddy Yankee along with Usher’s “Caught Up,” “I Don’t Care” by Ed Sheeran and “10,000 Hours” by Dan + Shay, among some 500 million records sold worldwide. He was named to Variety‘s Hitmakers list in 2017.

Liberty Global, the European cable operator conglomerate headed by chairman John Malone, announced a multiyear deal extension with Netflix covering its European footprint. The renewed distribution agreement will run for three years.

A Marilyn Monroe TV show is coming — and its plot lives up to the title of her classic film “Some Like it Hot.”

The project from "Yellowstone" producer 101 Studios and UK production company Seven Seas Films, is based on Keith Badman's non-fiction book "The Final Years of Marilyn Monroe". It's also the first filmed project about the late star's life to be endorsed by Authentic Brands Group, the owner of the Monroe estate.

David Glasser’s 101 Studios and U.K. indie producer Seven Seas Films are partnering to co-produce drama series “The Last Days of Marilyn Monroe,” detailing the turbulent final months of the star’s life before her death in 1962.
