Producer Parker Corey and rapper Nathaniel “Ritchie With a T” Ritchie — two thirds of the hardcore-adjacent hip-hop trio Injury Reserve, along with the late Jordan “Stepa J.” Groggs — have announced that they’ll be stepping away from their old nom de guerre in favor of a new moniker: By Storm. They shared the news on Twitter and Instagram Thursday evening (July 6), breaking down a somewhat convoluted chain of events they’ll set in motion next weekend.
On Saturday, July 15, Corey and Ritchie will premiere videos for two new singles at 2220 Arts + Archives in Los Angeles. The first will be Injury Reserve’s final single, “Bye Storm”; the second, By Storm’s inaugural cut, “Double Trio.” The new music and visuals will be accompanied by a conversation between the duo and author Harmony Holiday as part of her Mythscience conversation series.
