A spinoff of the popular show Suits has been confirmed. But will Duchess Meghan Markle and the rest of the original cast be back? On X, formerly Twitter, the official Suits account has revealed there will be a spinoff, although the original cast haven't been asked to return. On Tuesday, the account shared an article from Variety that was printed in February.
The article said the new show, Suits: LA, had the go-ahead.
The official account reacted by tweeting "We are so back," suggesting the new series is definitely happening.
According to the Variety article, none of the original cast have been invited back. Rachel Harris, who used to appear on Suits, told The Mirror that this was true: nobody from the old cast will feature in the Californian version of the show. Rachel, who played Sheila Sazs in the legal drama, said: "Of course when I got wind that they were doing a Suits LA I was like, okay, so when am I working? And he was very clear with me that no one from the previous cast is going to be in Suits LA." Rachel shared a bit of her chat with the guy who made Suits, Aaron Korsh.
She said he didn't talk about Meghan at all and that they "don't talk about the Duchess." Rachel said: "He has not said anything to me about Megan popping in. We don't talk about the Duchess. It's rude.
She has enough going on." Meghan Markle rose to fame in legal drama Suits, playing Rachel Zane on the show. However, the Duchess of Sussex retired from acting after marrying Prince Harry in 2018. Earlier this year, it was reported by The Mirror that Meghan Markle would be making her acting comeback after being offered a "dream role" in the spin-off.
