4-minute sketch began with Fallon, 49, skipping onto the stage in a blue striped sweater, white pants and a bowl-haircut wig. “Everybody’s talking about my tight pants, I got my tight pants, I got my tight pants on,” he sang, dancing around onstage alone. McConaughey came out from behind him, also sporting a silly unflattering wig, dancing with tight white pants and sunglasses, singing about being the only one wearing tight pants.
The Oscar-winning actor said that his pants were “All tight, all tight, all tight,” riffing on his famous catch phrase that started in “Dazed and Confused.” The “tight pants” sketch is a staple of “The Tonight Show,” with the first incarnation of it debuting in 2012, featuring Will Ferrell. The sketch always features Fallon’s character getting envious of somebody else’s tight pants. Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera have also been previous celeb guests in the skit, in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
As the sketch went on, McConaughey proclaimed that he was the only one who gets to wear tight pants.“Why? Because my pants are the tightest. My pants are the smoothest and they’re great for sipping cocktails,” he said. He used that line to transition into hawking his Pantalones tequila brand.
Together with his wife, Camila Alves, 41, he announced the brand last October. McConaughey has three kids with Alves: son Levi, 15, daughter Vida, 14, and son Livingston, 11. After the skit, McConaughey sat down with Fallon, where he shared an anecdote about losing his phone on a Six Flags roller coaster.
“It landed off in the middle of a swamp,” he said. “It was gone. These guys at Six Flags say, ‘We can’t check down there right now because the park’s still open.
