Footballer Mason Greenwood has been released on bail after three nights in a jail cell following his arrest on suspicion of assault, rape and threats to kill on Sunday 30 January. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the news, explaining that the 20 year old will undergo further investigation. In a statement, a spokesperson for police said: "A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation.
