Marvel Studios Reportedly Making Upcoming Disney+ Series “The Priority” Right Now

What a way for Disney to close out 2020, huh? If you’re a sports fan, there’s nothing quite like the rush of watching a half-court buzzer-beater or a Super Bowl-winning touchdown in the final seconds of the game. There’s just something remarkable about a group of individuals uniting to accomplish something greater than themselves.

One of the more interesting announcements is confirmation of a long-gestating rumor that Marvel Studios had been developing a project featuring whiz-kid Riri Williams. “Ironheart,” the second of the newly announced series coming to Disney+, stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.

For most of the rumored and confirmed “Star Wars” live-action series coming to Disney+, there has always been a clear focus. There is the “Obi-Wan” show, “Cassian Andor,” and perhaps the “Ahsoka Tano” series.

Though it was already reported back in September, the recent Disney investors call revealed that Marvel Studios is, in fact, working on a Nick Fury-led TV series that will eventually land on Disney+. There’s one catch though, it’s not titled “Nick Fury” and it’s more than just about him.

Today, during Disney’s investors call, Bob Chapek, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, revealed that an untitled Ahsoka Tano series is in development at Disney+. The news isn’t entirely a surprise— former CEO chief Bob Iger had already said spin-off shows from Lucasfilm’s “The Mandalorian” were being explored.

In the race for the most shocking news of 2020, in regards to the film industry, that is, we have already sent the trophy to WarnerMedia for its massive announcement that the studio’s entire Warner Bros. 2021 film slate was getting sent to HBO Max the same day as theaters.
