Marvel’s Kevin Feige Drops Hints About Phase 4 & Studio’s “Next Big Saga”

“Thor: Love and Thunder,” the fourth standalone movie centered around Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the increasingly self-aware Norse God of Thunder, is finally upon us. This time Thor, after paling around with the Guardians of the Galaxy (including Chris Pratt’s Star Lord), goes on a quest to find himself. This quest turns out to be way more literal than Thor would have probably imagined, when he runs into someone with his powers, using his old hammer Mjölnir.

As San Diego Comic-Con looms on the horizon, the prospect of Marvel beginning to announce the plans for their ambitious Phase 5 approaches. While many are expecting announcements on “Fantastic Four,” or “Deadpool,” many fans are still asking when we’ll hear some movement on the next iteration of “The X-Men,” and who might succeed Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Taron Egerton has revealed that he has been in talks with Kevin Feige and other Marvel Studio executives about taking on the role of Wolverine, previously brought to screen by Hugh Jackman.

It’s far from a done deal, but Taron Egerton is officially in talks to play everyone’s favourite Canadian superhero.

Netflix looks to be reuniting with some familiar faces as sources tell Deadline the streamer has come on to Joe and Anthony Russo’s next directing feature The Electric State with Millie Bobby Brown set to star. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely adapted the script, with the Russos and Mike Larocca producing for AGBO. Chris Castaldi, and Patrick Newall are also producing.

“Thor: Love & Thunder” breaks new ground for Marvel Studios. After more than two dozen films and TV projects, the latest ‘Thor’ film is the first time in the history of the MCU that a character has had four solo films.

Lucasfilm announced that Taika Waititi would co-write (with “1917” and “Last Night in Soho” scribe Krysty Wilson-Cairns) and direct a new, theatrically released “Star Wars” film. Since then, not much has been revealed.

“Thor: Love & Thunder” isn’t just the return of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder for yet another appearance in an MCU film. It actually marks the first time in Marvel Studios history that a solo character has returned for a fourth feature.

Disney kicked off its CineEurope presentation in Barcelona today with 12 minutes of footage from July’s Marvel fourquel Thor: Love And Thunder, and throughout the show teased trailers and looks at its other upcoming titles including four never-before-seen scenes from James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way Of Water.
