If you're earning £30,000 or less a year, then you could be entitled to extra money, says expert Martin Lewis. Martin says households who have an overall income of less than £30,000 could be on track for monetary help from the government. You'll have to go online for around 10 minutes to see if you're eligible and there's no time like the present, given the rise in energy prices recently.
Martin took to Twitter and said: "Do you have total (family) income under £30,000? If so and you don't get any benefits, it is worth ten minutes on our free benefits calculator… to see if you're missing out on entitlements. I’m NOT saying all will be due, just it's worth the time to check." After doing this, the calculators displays which benefits a household could have dependent on their situation, with even households with an income of £50,000 having the potential for benefit entitlement.
It has been estimated that a whopping seven million families are actually missing out on unclaimed benefits. And one Money Saving Expert reader previously revealed that she was £2,000-a-year better off after finding out she was eligible. In another savvy money hack, one mum discovered she could make savings of £912 per month to help deal with increasing energy prices.
