Martin Lewis makes 'responsible' ITV Good Morning Britain decision over viewers' messages

Strictly Come Dancing could be picking up the phone in anticipation of the 2023 series after Martin Lewis broke his usual serious character on Good Morning Britain. The money-saving guru was back fronting the ITV news programme today (September 21) alongside Susanna Reid.

ITV Good Morning Britain was very different this morning as it underwent major changes to ensure coverage of the Queen's state funeral. Susanna Reid joined by co-host Ben Shephard presented the programme live from outside Westminster Abbey and in a change to the usual times they remained on air until 9.30am.

Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid gave a sombre message as they returned to screens with Good Morning Britain on Monday. The hosts were back at the helm of the ITV news programme ahead of the Queen's state funeral.

Des Coleman hosted today's weather forecast to the delight of viewers who took to Twitter to praise him as a presenter.The popular weatherman is of course familiar to viewers having had career as an actor, even landing a role in EastEnders playing Lenny Wallace from 1996 to 1999. After leaving Albert Square, Des went on to appear in Casualty, The Bill and even appeared in the West End before training with the Met Office and moving into weather presenting.

Martin Lewis left Good Morning Britain viewers in shock on by revealing on air that he would donate £100,000 of his own cash to a financial advice charity.The Money Saving Expert, who guest hosted the show to help guide its viewers through the cost of living crisis, said he would offer 10per cent of the money charity Money Buddies needs to continue offering financial advice to those struggling with their energy bills. Along with donating his own money, Martin also encouraged any viewers that were in a privileged position to viewers to help if they were able to spare any cash.This comes after Prime Minister Liz Truss announced last week there would be a cap on energy bills to limit soaring costs and inflation.
