Martin Lewis issues 'work around' to anyone with Ring Doorbell after 43% price hike

Martin Lewis has issued a 'quick tip' to save money for anyone with a Ring Doorbell after it was announced the price of a basic subscription plan was to rise by 43pc.
Customers subscribed to Ring's Protect Basic Plan have begun receiving emails informing them that the subscription will increase from £34.99 a year to £49.99 a year. For those that pay monthly, it means their payments will go up from £3.49 a month to £4.99.
The new price change will be implemented from March 11, 2024 with Amazon, which owns Ring, saying the change was being made 'to enhance the plan and give customers more value'.

Posting on social media after the announcement, money-saving expert Martin Lewis issued advice to anyone who has a Ring Doorbell and subscription. He said anyone wanting to stay at the current rate should cancel their subscription now, and sign up again for another year before the rise.
He wrote on X, formely Twitter: "Beat the Ring doorbell 43% March price hike.
"I know many are annoyed, so there's a possible work around (still double-checking but thought I'd get it out). Cancel now get a pro-rata refund (you may lose saved files tho). Sign up again at the current price which then locks it in for the next year."
