Money saving expert Martin Lewis is back once again with a clever way to find cheap petrol prices in your local area. The cost of fuel is currently pushing record highs, with a standard 55-litre tank of petrol now setting you back an average £100.27p. There's usually a reasonable gap between petrol and diesel, but that is soon to be a thing of the past.
The same volume of diesel will cost, on average, £103.43. So with such an unexpected expense now carving a hole in our pockets week on week, finding ways to cut down the cost is fast becoming essential. Luckily, the 50 year old money mogul, who recently shared a hack for saving money on airport parking, says there are websites that can help take the hard work out of saving money on fuel.

Petrolprices.com." People are prompted to enter their postcode in order to find the nearest fuel station near them, as well as adding filters to specify which type of fuel you are searching for. But, as ever, you must first enter your details to sign up. Some people reacted with surprise at this, with one customer writing on Twitter: "Why do I need to give my information and sign up?" To which Lewis replied: "Because they want to build a database in return for letting you access theirs!" Peoples' uncertainties aside, his prompt obviously proved popular with consumers as he later posted an update retweeting his original message with the caption: "Seems I've crashed it", alluding to the petrolprices.com website.
