MoneySavingExpert Martin Lewis has been helping those looking to deal with the cost of living crisis by sharing his tips and tricks to live a little cheaper. The financial journalist, 49, regularly shares free money-saving tips and tricks online, and he took to Twitter to issue an "urgent" switch warning to his many social media followers amid soaring energy prices. Martin shared a switchable energy fix that is "the cheapest by far" - but it is about to be pulled, while also explaining that "it's not simple" and that there are "pros and cons".
He added: "We were still polishing our guide, but have gone live in case you can catch it". A link shared within the Tweet said Utility Warehouse currently has a one-year fixed energy deal, that when "looked at in isolation may well be a winner over the next year". However, it is not a simple energy switch.
If customers want to claim the offer, they'll also have to take other products. Not everyone should fix, though Martin suggests those who can fix for less than 40% more than the current price cap on average, it may be right for you. Utility Warehouse's 'Green Fixed 30' one-year fixed tariff is around 27% more than the price cap, making it the cheapest switch on the market before you consider the other products you need to claim it.
