Australian reality TV star Cameron Merchant has opened up about suffering a health scare while on holiday in Bali.
The Married At First Sight Australia star shared details of his experience with 'Bali belly' on Instagram, admitting he'd had a "rough" 24 hours. Cameron, 40, had jetted to Bali to attend a close friend's wedding, but found himself awake in the early hours of the morning in pain.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Cameron penned: "Bali belly strikes.
Turn of events, up from 2:30am in a world of hurt and depleted of everything within me." He revealed he'd been hooked up to a drip to replenish his fluids after being sick for 24 hours. Cameron then expressed his frustration as he listed his symptoms.
He added: "Well this is fun... Not such a moment of joy.
The cold shivers, the shakes , the hot sweats... make up your mind Bali belly, which one is it? One depleted human right here, right now." A day later, Cameron said he was now on the mend.
He posted a snap of his first meal after not eating for 36 hours, revealing he was tucking into a banana and some buttered toast. "First meal in over 36 hours... What a treat!" he penned as he basked in the sunshine by a swimming pool.
Cameron later thanked all of the staff at his hotel resort in Bali in a series of Instagram Stories. He then announced he'd landed back in Sydney, ready to reunite with his family. Cameron appeared on MAFS Australia in 2019.
