Married At First Sight UK's Peggy Rose has decided to leave the show and her marriage to Georges Berthonneau. In a heart-wrenching moment on the E4 show, which airs from 9pm on Monday, 30 October, Peggy announces her decision to her co-stars as she doesn't "know who the real person is" and feels "like a fool".
She shares: "It's really hard to say this.
The girls are telling me one thing and I'm defending you because I feel like I know the real George but then do I know the real George cos he's acting different in front of other people? "Then, I feel like a fool. I actually don't know who the real person is.
I just don't know what it will take to make you just be you and sometimes I just don't think you are listening to me." Peggy – who last week seemed to share the news that their relationship is definitely over – dramatically continues: "I just think well, 'What's the point?' so for that reason my decision is to leave. I can't do it any longer.
He needs to change." Previously, Georges had expressed concerns about their lack of intimacy, admitting he feels "not good enough" for Peggy. "There is no intimacy and we are not progressing with that," he said.
Peggy responded: "It's not all on me." She continued: "We've had so many obstacles and we've got through them all stronger than ever, but intimacy has not progressed, there are a few things that put me off Georges." She concluded: "You can't put a date on when you have sex with someone." Peggy confessed before joining the show that she often found herself in the middle of drama, earning her the nickname 'Peggy in the middle'. And there was previously drama on her honeymoon with Georges when she took exception to his online 'gaming' activities where he performs tasks
