It goes without saying that for any marvel fan, it is impossible to imagine any other actor besides Mark Ruffalo playing the role of Bruce Banner aka Hulk. During his latest interview with Variety, he recalled the time Marvel offered him the iconic role. He revealed that he tried to talk them out of casting him because he did not feel like he was the right guy for the job.
Ruffalo said "Blue Valentine" director Derek Cianfrance tried and failed to cast him in "Blue Valentine" in a role eventually played by Ryan Gosling, reports variety.com.

Mark Ruffalo wants to reprise his role as Bruce Banner and his mean, green alter-ego the Hulk in future Avengers sequels and spinoffs. However, the actor admits that it’s unclear when or if the strongest man alive will resurface after Earth’s Mightiest Heroes defeated Thanos in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.”
