Manic Street Preachers share playlist of “new and lost recordings”

Manic Street Preachers have today (July 22) unveiled details of an anniversary release of ‘Know Your Enemy’.The expanded and remastered version of ‘Know Your Enemy’ will be released on September 9 and can be pre-ordered here.The album will be divided into two albums across two disks, ‘Solidarity’ and ‘Door To The River’. The three CD format of the release, also includes a disk of unreleased demos.The album is described as a “radically reimagined” version of their sixth record and has been entirely remixed and reconstructed to form two separate albums as the band originally planned.‘Know Your Enemy’ will be available digitally and as a 3CD boxset, double CD and double album.This deluxe release includes two previously unheard ‘forgotten’ tracks: ‘Studies in Paralysis’ and ‘Rosebud’.

A sprawling record with a heavily eclectic mix of sounds and some of their most overt political imagery, it alienated much of the new fanbase who were won on their previous and most successful album ‘This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours’.

Pale Waves have today (July 20) shared another new single from their upcoming new album – check out ‘The Hard Way’ below.The song begins in a stripped-back way before it soars into a rockier, propulsive number that documents frontwoman Heather Baron-Gracie’s “battle with loss and the struggle for acceptance that comes with it.”Baron-Gracie says the song is her “favourite” on the new album, but went on to explain how it deals with emotive themes.“When I was in high school a girl who was being bullied took her own life,” Baron-Gracie began.“I got on the bus with her every single morning and I would see her sitting in her same spot. Bear’s Den have shared a new collaboration featuring Jade Bird which is set to appear in the Apple TV+ series Trying.The uplifting track – ‘Please Don’t Hide Yourself Away’, which you can listen to below, will feature on the band’s soundtrack for the third season of the show.It is the first of two tracks Bird and the band have collaborated on.“The funnest part of making this soundtrack has been the opportunity to reach out and collaborate with other artists and musicians whose music we absolutely love. Opening lyric ‘you probably hate me’ refers to the fact that I started to find it easier to assume people disliked me from the outset, instead of being caught off-guard by negative energy.“The chorus is about how the need to be liked or loved can become an almost obsession that is dangerous to my mental health.

Lorenz said enlisting Chant and Utley for the project was a choice made to add more of a “classic” feel to their genre-meshing sound.“We were at Ali’s studio down in Bristol, and we asked to work with them to get a more classic sound,” she explained.

Nicki Minaj's husband, who pleaded guilty to the charges against him in September, has been sentenced to a mix of in-home confinement, probation and fines, ET confirms.«Kenneth Petty pleaded guilty in September 2021 to one count of failure to register as a sex offender,» a public information officer for the U.S. Attorney's office in Los Angeles told ET.

Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, to one year of home detention and three years of probation after he failed to register as a sex offender.Californian law states that Petty – who was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995 – would have been required to register as a sex offender within five business days of moving to the state.According to federal court documents, Petty moved from New York to California in July of 2019 but failed to update his status. New York’s sex offender registry demands that a convicted offender must notify authorities within 10 days of changing their address.Petty was subsequently arrested in November 2019.

Nicki Minaj has seemingly taken aim at Kanye West during her performance at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans over the weekend.The performance, which took place on Friday night (July 1), was Minaj’s first in-person live performance in around three years. A portion of the set was dedicated to a medley of Minaj’s early guest verses that originally saw the rise in her profile – including Young Money’s ‘Bedrock’ and Drake‘s ‘Make Me Proud’.
