Graeme Souness has slammed the Manchester United players for not dealing with the pressure after they were soundly beaten 4-0 by Brighton.
The Scot accused the United squad of assuming they can cruise home against supposed 'lesser' teams like Brighton. Graham Potter's side fired home three second-half goals to add gloss to their win in their final home match of the season, a result that consigned Ralf Rangnick's side to further misery as their season took another dark turn.
"Four did not flatter Brighton," Souness said speaking to Sky Sports. "The last thing you hear as a player is make sure you start right, that sets the tone of the game, certainly for the first 15, 20 minutes and if you're conceding goals, you're setting the tempo of the game going forward.

"This is not a big game for Man United, it's a big game for Brighton. You wear a target on your back when you're a big team but if you can't deal with it you can't be at that football club.
"I'd say Man United, the majority of the players don't deal with it, that's why they've had a miserable season. He's (Cristiano Ronaldo) thinking, when I was here the last time, I had Scholes, Keane, Ferdinand, now I've got this lot."
