Manchester United have triggered the one-year extension in Dylan Levitt's contract following an exceptional season on loan with Dundee United.
Levitt, 21, was entering the final month of his contract but United have taken up their option of an additional year to tie the midfielder to the club until 2023 and will make a decision on whether he stays for the remainder of his contract or departs for a fee to gain the first-team playing time he is evidently ready for.
It comes the day after Levitt put in a coming of age performance for Wales in their Nations League defeat to Poland — his 11th appearance at senior international level.
Levitt spent this season on loan at Scottish Premiership side Dundee United where he established himself as one of their most important players.

The United youngster played 29 times and netted six goals as he won the club’s Fans Player of the Year award and helped Dundee United qualify for European competition for the first time in 10 years.
Levitt had significant interest from England and Scotland to sign him on a free transfer if he were to leave this summer, and interest still remains high as he re-enters his final year at the club.
Levitt is aware that he needs to continue playing regular first team football to push onto the next level, but he now feels confident of playing at a high level after his successful loan in Scotland.
