Manchester United fans took their chance to try and convince Declan Rice to join the club this summer.
Supporters flooded the West Ham captain's Instagram account with messages after the midfielder congratulated England college Luke Shaw on signing a new Old Trafford contact. Shaw, 27, signed a four-year extension on Tuesday and was toasted on social media by teammates, including Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.
Rice, a long term United transfer target, was another to pass on his best. The 24-year-old is coming into the final year of his contract, albeit with a 12 month option, at the London Stadium. The Manchester Evening News reported last year that United were keen on Rice, and the club's fans were only too keen to make their feelings clear on social media as Rice posted "Testimonial soon? Fully deserved brother".

Rice has made more than 200 appearances for the Hammers since breaking through into the senior set-up. Rice has 41 caps for his country and has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent seasons.
