Whether it's a BLT, tuna mayo or a fresh bap with ham and cheese, the UK is undoubtedly a nation of sandwich lovers.
And in a quest to uncover the UK's favourite sandwich - as well as the more questionable sandwich fillings people have admitted to eating - Furniture At Work's national survey has also revealed how much people are paying for their butties.
Comparing cities across the UK from London and Bristol to Sheffield and Newcastle, results from the survey indicate that Manchester is the most expensive city to grab a sandwich at lunchtime.

The UK average came out at £3.89, however data revealed that Mancs spend a hefty £4.51 on average for a butty. In joint second place were Belfast and London at £4.26, while Southampton came in at £4.09. Manchester's Northern neighbours were significantly lower, with Liverpool coming in at £3.60, Leeds £3.76 and Newcastle £3.45. But it was Sheffield that took to spot for the lowest UK average at just £2.84.
While we may have some of the most expensive sandwiches in the UK, we do also have some of the highest quality butty spots. Every kind of sandwich is catered for in our city - from the footlong beasts to massive stuffed focaccias and full-to-the-brim bagels - with many of the best coming from a stellar line-up of independents from all around Greater Manchester.
As well as finding the most expensive city for a sandwich, the survey revealed which industry pays the most for their sandwiches. The creative arts and design sector came in at a £4.78, while retail workers pay the least for their butties, at a penny-pinching £2.98.
