A man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Ancoats. Detectives have launched an investigation following the attack on Chippenham Road at about 3am Friday.
Witnesses reported seeing the road cordoned off and the police helicopter flying overhead. It's understood the victim was stabbed in the ankle and shin.

Scans later showed deep tissue injuries, described by police as 'non-life threatening'. No arrests have been made.
Police say enquiries are on-going and have appealed for witnesses.
