Jack Paolucci, 19, and Courtney Jennings, 18, died at the scene after Bradley Clough's car skidded off the road. Clough, 25, of Burnley Road, Lancashire, has now been jailed for causing death by careless driving.
Jack, from Birmingham, and his fiancée Courtney, from Staffordshire, were two of seven passengers in a five-seater car when Clough lost control in Perham Down Road in Tidworth, Wiltshire, on October 29, 2021. He was said by police to have lied about being blinded by headlights from an oncoming car, Birmingham Live reports.

Jack and Courtney, who were serving soldiers, died at the scene and two other passengers suffered serious injuries. Investigators found the car was ‘overloaded’ with passengers and a tyre was underinflated.
Clough was arrested but tried to cover his own back and lied to police in interview - claiming to have been blinded by the headlights of an oncoming vehicle when there were none in the area. Police said he 'should have been well aware of how dangerous his car was to drive'.
Following Clough’s sentencing hearing at Winchester Crown Court last week, Jack and Courtney’s families paid tribute to the couple.
