Henry Cavill said it’s always been “very important” to maintain his ties to Superman, with the actor just recently being able to announce his return as the Kryptonian Kal-El. He tells Deadline, though, that for a moment, he’d had to accept that whatever future he might have with the beloved DC character was outside of his control.
In the near future, it’s pretty simple what the new Warner Bros Discovery will zero in on: “We’re going to have a real focus on franchises,” President and CEO David Zaslav said on this afternoon’s Q3 earnings call.
While the “Twilight” series made Robert Pattinson a household name and catapulted the actor to superstardom, he wasn’t author Stephenie Meyer‘s first choice as Edward Cullen. Instead, Meyer envisioned another British heartthrob in the role, Henry Cavill.
As if the end-credits of “Black Adam” didn’t make it obvious enough, Henry Cavill recently confirmed that he is set to return to the DCU in a big way as Superman. However, nothing is really clear about what that return might look like.
Toss a coin to your new witcher. Henry Cavill announced he will not return as the star of Netflix’s hit series The Witcher, and the streamer has recast the leading man with Liam Hemsworth.
The Superman of it all is very real. How serious is Henry Cavill about returning to the Man Of Steel role and re-entering the DC Universe? Well, there’s no more apparent sign that he’s dropping his current money project at Netflix that’s probably paid him handsomely well in the last few years.
British actor Henry Cavill (“The Witcher“) made waves recently by announcing his official return to the Superman role with early development on a sequel to “Man of Steel.” But that’s not the only thing on the horizon as he’s already teamed with director Matthew Vaughn (“The Kingsman” franchise) on the Apple franchise-starter “Argylle” which could give the streaming service its own run of blockbuster-level spy films.
Their red carpet debut! Henry Cavill brought girlfriend Natalie Viscuso to the Enola Holmes 2 premiere, marking their first public appearance together.
EXCLUSIVE: In the splashiest launch of the AFM so far, Guy Ritchie and Top Gun: Maverick producer Jerry Bruckheimer have enlisted Superman Henry Cavill and Baby Driver star Eiza González to lead their World War II action spy movie The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which Black Bear International has arranged financing on and is launching for world sales.
Now that Daniel Craig‘s time as James Bond is over after “No Time To Die,” it’s only healthy for fans of the franchise to speculate who will next don the ruthless and debonair superspy’s black tuxedo.
It’s hard to say how much “Enola Holmes,” the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes story adapted from the YA fiction series of the same name by Nancy Springer, penetrated into the pop culture space. Sure, “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobbie Brown led the movie, and Netflix gave it a sequel and called it a hit, but don’t they do that with everything? But the reality is, in case you missed it, and it feels like some more cynical audiences thought it might not be for them, “Enola Holmes” was absolutely delightful.
Henry Cavill, aka The Man of Steel, will once again battle for truth, justice and the American way.
