A man has been found dead in a Cheshire woodlands. Firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle fire at Stanney Woods in Ellesmere Port in the early hours of Friday morning (June 3).
Police were called to the woodlands at around 12.50am following a report from the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. A man was found dead inside the vehicle, CheshireLive reports .
CheshireLive was told by a passing resident that the car park entrance to the woods was blocked by cones. There was also a heavy police presence as vehicles were parked up and the area was cordoned off.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At 00.50hrs on Friday, June 3, 2022 Cheshire Fire and Rescue called police to Stanney Woods, Ellesmere Port. A vehicle was on fire at the location.
"A deceased adult male was found inside the vehicle. CID are making enquiries into the incident and to identify the deceased."
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
