Senior coroner Timothy Brennand told the court that a police investigation is underway but no charges are likely to be brought in the next 28 days.
Reading a statement from PC Phil Drummond of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, Mr Brennand said: "The investigation continues as there remains outstanding enquiries in relation to witness statements and further CCTV enquiries. The family are being supported by the family liaison officer."
Mr Brennand added: "The problem as I discern it is that the fatal collision investigation unit at Greater Manchester Police have such a significant number of outstanding cases that the average turnaround for a forensic reconstruction report is around five to nine months". He adjourned the inquest to be reviewed on November 14.
