Police have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of drug driving after a crash in the early hours of the morning left a man fighting for his life in hospital.
Emergency services rushed to Ashton Old Road in Openshaw just before 3am this morning, Sunday August 29, to reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
When they arrived, paramedics found a 21-year-old man had been seriously injured.

Cops raced to the one-vehicle smash on the A78 at around 1.35am on Friday, September 3. It's understood the collision involved a BMW X5 near to Eglinton roundabout.
