An investigation has been launched after a man died in a house fire in Tameside.

A man has died following a head-on crash on the M62 in the early hours. Shortly after 2am today a Vauxhall Corsa was reported to be driving the wrong way along the eastbound carriageway from Greater Manchester into West Yorkshire.
Traffic police were scrambled to the scene, but a short time later the Corsa was found to have crashed into a Volkswagen Golf, close to Scammonden Bridge.
The male Corsa driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the male Golf driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for further treatment.

The M62 has been closed in both directions since the crash and is likely to remain shut all morning as the investigation takes place.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Both carriageways remain closed between Junctions 22 and 24 at this time. Both are expected to reopen before noon today and motorists are advised to find alternative routes while these closures remain in place.
“The Major Collision Enquiry Team is investigating this collision and would like to hear from anyone who saw, or who has footage of the collision or the grey Vauxhall Corsa prior to it.
“If you can assist then please contact the team on 101, or by using the livechat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website, quoting log reference 0137 of March 23.”
In a statement West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews attended a serious road traffic collision on the M62 between junctions 22 to 23 eastbound.
"Three fire engines from Rastrick, Slaithwaite and Rochdale attended, along with the Technical Rescue crews from Cleckheaton. The M62 remains closed both directions between Junctions 22 and 24."
