A man has died after getting into difficulty in water in a Scots canal.

A man has died following an incident at a set of high rise flats in Glasgow.
Emergency services raced to Dumbreck Court in Glasgow after the alarm was raised at around 4.30pm on Monday, July 25. Officers were responding to reports for a concern for a person. Ambulance crews attended, but tragically the 59-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Police quickly taped off an area at the back of the flats and officers remained at the scene until late on Monday night. An area of the car park was covered in tarpaulin while police launched an investigation.
At around 10pm forensic officers in boiler suits arrived before combing the scene. The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
Cops say a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to Dumbreck Court in Glasgow shortly before 4.30pm on Monday, July 25 following a report of concern for a man.
“The 59-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
