Ilkay Gundogan has confirmed that no talks of a City contract extension or renewal have yet taken place. The German’s deal runs out in summer 2023 and he has reiterated his desire to stay on at the Eithad beyond then.
The 31-year-old has won three Premier League titles since his move from Borussia Dortmund in 2016 and could claim a fourth this season. He’s played an integral role in his club’s success over the past six years and intends to help City further, if possible.
"I'm very happy at Manchester City,” he said. "There are no concrete talks, but we have a good relationship.”
