A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged murder of Kevan Doyle in Wishaw.
Police descended on a property at Glencleland Road in the North Lanarksire town at 8.50pm on October 28 after receiving reports of a disturbance. On arrival, 43-year-old Kevan was found dead at the scene.
An investigation was launched into the incident as detectives treated the death as unexplained. Now, following a post-mortem examination, his death has been confirmed as suspicious and a murder probe is ongoing.
Officers investigating the incident have reassured there is no wider threat to the community. A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.
He is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Detective Chief Inspector John Morrison of Police Scotland’s Major Investigations Team said: “Our thoughts are with Kevan’s family and friends and they are being provided with support by specialist officers. We believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider community.
“There will likely be a police presence in the area as our investigation continues and I would like to thank the local community for their assistance with our enquiries.”
