A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after police officers were allegedly chased down a street in Paisley with a chainsaw.
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Glasgow Road at around 1pm on May 6.
The alleged incident followed a collision between a black car and a police vehicle, which saw the squad car crash into a wall.
Liridon Kastrati, of Paisley, was charged with attempted murder, being in possession of an offensive weapon, breach of the peace and dangerous driving at Paisley Sheriff Court. He also faced three road traffic offences.
The 30-year-old made no plea to the charges during the private hearing on Tuesday afternoon.
He was remanded in custody.
