A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a newborn baby. The seven-week-old tot was discovered unresponsive at a property in Burnley on November 28 last year.
He was rushed to Manchester Children's Hospital but tragically died two days later on November 30, Lancashire Police have confirmed. A man and a woman were initially arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed.
They were both then re-arrested on suspicion of murder. The woman has since been released without charge while the man remains on bail as the investigation into the tragedy continues.

A Home Office post-mortem examination has been carried out but police said they were awaiting further medical tests to establish an exact cause of death.
In a statement, Lancashire Police confirmed they were called by the ambulance service to an address on Piccadilly Road in Burnley at around 12.10pm on Sunday, November 28.
A spokesperson said: "Emergency services attended and a seven-week-old baby boy was found unresponsive. The baby was taken to hospital and later transferred to Manchester Children's Hospital for further treatment.
"A man and woman, both aged 25 and from Burnley, were initially arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed. Sadly, the boy died on November 30.
"A Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted and further medical investigation is required to establish a cause of death. The man and woman were re-arrested on suspicion of murder but following further enquiries the woman was later released without charge.
