Married At First Sight UK's Whitney Hughes has taken to Instagram to assure followers she has "no regrets" over anything that's happened on the show as the (notoriously dramatic) final commitment ceremony aired last night (October 6). Whitney, 31, and her new partner Matt Murray caused friction in the group when they abandoned their original partners, Gemma Rose and Duka Cav, and fell for each other instead. But following all the airtime and drama dedicated to this situation over the series, Whitney refers to it as "intense" and "emotional" but insists she wouldn't change any of it.
Posting an image of herself in a purple cardigan and knee-high pale blue boots, Whitney wrote: "The Final Commitment Ceremony. "This experiment was one of the most intense and emotional journeys I’ve ever been on. It was a rollercoaster… a journey and I regret none of it." In a previous episode Whitney admitted she was in love with new beau Matt telling the producers on camera: "I think I might be in love" after Whitney and Matt's designated marriage-matches failed to work out.
Their original spouses, Duka Cavolli and Gemma Rose, were left reeling from the betrayal of the new union. But after calling it quits and opting to leave the show, following episodes showed the pair begging to stay as a new couple and the experts reluctantly agreeing. Matt has since echoed Whitney's comments telling Yorkshire Live: "It was that first conversation that hooked us, I didn't find her that attractive to start with.
