Lucy Mecklenburgh has shared how she never realised her fiancé Ryan Thomas’s brother Adam Thomas was in BBC drama Waterloo Road, despite being a huge fan.The school drama originally ran from 2006 until 2015 and followed the lives of students at a comprehensive school, with a revival of the popular series starting off filming next month. However, despite being a big fan of the show, Lucy Mecklenburgh, 30, has only recently caught onto the fact that her fiance’s brother Adam Thomas had a starring role in the show.The former TOWIE star is engaged to actor Ryan Thomas, who’s best known for playing Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street between 2000 and 2016. However, Ryan’s brother Adam is also an actor, having played Donte Charles in Waterloo Road before moving to Emmerdale, where he played Adam Barton for nine years. Sharing her excitement at the Waterloo Road revival and surprise at discovering she actually had a family connection to the show, Lucy posted a throwback photos from the show, writing: “It’s back!!!!! I was such a Waterloo Road fan.
I never actually realised Donte was @adamthomas21. So excited for this!” It’s safe to say that the Thomas family are quite the showbiz family as, alongside actors Ryan and Adam in the family, their brother Scott Thomas also appeared on Love Island in 2016. Lucy and Ryan met on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls in 2017 and began dating, later welcoming their first child Roman into the world in March 2020.
