Lucy Liu Joins Netflix's 'A Man in Full'

Brent Lang Executive Editor of Film and Media Nicole Power has joined the ensemble of the upcoming Netflix drama series“Glamorous.” She will appear alongside the previously announced “Sex and the City” icon Kim Cattrall, as well as actor, singer-songwriter and YouTuber Miss Benny. In the show, Power will portray Mykynnleigh, a seemingly guileless corporate consultant who rolls into town to help make a business deal happen. Although she seems wholesome and unsophisticated, those appearances are deceiving as Mykynnleigh possesses a lot of backbone and business acumen. “Glamorous” tells the story of Marco Mejia (Miss Benny), a gender-nonconforming queer young man whose life seems to be stuck in place until he lands a job working for legendary makeup mogul Madolyn Addison (Cattrall). It’s Marco’s first chance to figure out what he wants out of life, who he actually is and what it really means for him to be queer.

Netflix is giving fans a first look at their fall movie slate!

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Noah Baumbach’s black comedy “White Noise,” Alejandro Iñárritu’s “Bardo (Or False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths)” and Lindsay Lohan’s romantic comedy “Falling for Christmas” will debut on Netflix this fall. On Tuesday, the streamer announced the release dates for those films — and plenty more — including “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical,” “The Swimmers” and “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone.” Some of those titles, like “Bardo” and “White Noise,” will have limited theatrical runs before debuting on Netflix, while others, such as “Falling for Christmas,” will land directly on the streaming service. “Bardo” will debut on Dec. 16 following its world premiere at Venice Film Festival. Prior to landing on the streamer, it’ll play in movie theaters in Mexico starting on Oct. 27, as well as select North American theaters on Nov. 4. Described as a “nostalgic comedy,” the film stars Daniel Giménez Cacho follows a renowned Mexican journalist and a documentary filmmaker who returns to his native country at an existential crossroads.

EXCLUSIVE: The long-awaited sequel to the classic comedy franchise is a go as sources tell Deadline that Taylour Paige and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have joined series star Eddie Murphy in Netflix’s newly titled Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Production on the sequel is under way with Mark Molloy directing. Murphy is back as Axel Foley and will produce along with Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer films. Joe Otterson TV Reporter Scott Foley has joined the cast of the upcoming HBO Max series “The Girls on the Bus,” Variety has learned. Foley joins previously announced cast members Melissa Benoist, Christina Elmore, and Natasha Behnam in the show, which was ordered straight-to-series at HBO Max in February after having been set up at both Netflix and The CW. “The Girls on the Bus” is inspired by a chapter in Amy Chozick’s book “Chasing Hillary.” It is described as a comedic character-driven drama that chronicles four female journalists who follow every move of a parade of flawed presidential candidates, while finding friendship, love, and scandal along the way.

Netflix is rebooting “The Mole,” a high-stakes competition series that will debut on the streamer this fall, TheWrap has confirmed.In the new and reimagined version, 12 players must work together in challenges to add money to a pot that only one of them will win at the end. Unbeknownst to them, one of their teammates has been designated as “the Mole” and tasked with sabotaging the group’s money-making efforts.

Post-production House Warner Bros. De Lane Lea Announce Move To New Soho Site Post-production house Warner Bros. De Lane Lea today announced it will be moving across Soho from its current home on Dean Street to Ilona Rose House, a new site developed by Soho Estates’ on Greek Street. Located over three floors of the building and spanning over 32,000 sq. ft, Ilona Rose House will house the UK’s largest mixing stage. The site will also feature a 4K DCI laser projection with Dolby Atmos and IMAX monitoring, 45 networked and acoustically treated cutting rooms with a programmable advanced lighting system, and three further mixing stages with 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos and laser projection. In a statement, Kim Waugh, EVP Worldwide Post Production Creative Services, Warner Bros. said the new facility will help “bring another level of service to the post-production world in London.” Warner Bros. De Lane Lea, which has post-production credits on films such as Gravity (2013), and the Harry Potter film series (2001-2011), will officially open the doors to Ilona Rose House in September.

There are plenty of down-on-his-luck musician stories in films and TV series.
