Love Island fans have been left feeling queasy as the show's microphones continue to pick up the sounds of the islanders kissing. Viewers shared the observation after celebrity bombshell Joey Essex was asked to select three girls he was most attracted to during Tuesday night’s show, and kiss them for ten seconds.
The lucky ladies were Samantha, Harriet and Nicole, but fans were left rather less happy at the stomach-churning noises.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one wrote: "Love Island I beg you… please turn down the kissing noises #LoveIsland". Another shared a photo of rapper Kanye West with his hands over his ears, which they captioned: "Me when the kissing noises get louder and louder #LoveIsland" "Oh I forgot how yuck These kissing noises are! I know the sound guys are cringing putting these eps together each time #loveIsland" penned a third.
While a fourth added: "One thing I’ve not missed is these audible snogging sounds #LoveIsland" Others took aim at Joey's kissing technique after makeup artist Samantha took to the famous beach hut, where she slammed the kiss as "all teeth." Reacting to this, one viewer posted: "Joey looks like he can’t kiss I can’t lie!” exclaimed one. "Joey? Why does he kiss like that?" questioned another concerned fan.
A third laughed: "Joey Essex isn’t trying to kiss these girls he’s tryna bite them lmao." Samantha will likely now be hoping that Joey can improve his kissing technique as the star chose to couple up with her, sending hairdresser Sam Taylor packing, after just 24 hours in the villa. In the dramatic ending to Tuesday night’s episode, the Islanders were told to gather round the firepit as the reality star made his decision.
