Love Island star Finley Tapp has revealed that he is returning to his previous day job. The 23-year-old won the ITV2 show with his then partner Paige Turley in 2020, and like many others who find fame on the show, he has been working as a social media influencer.
But now the TV personality, who recently split from his co-star Paige after three years, has shared that he is going back to his old job as a footballer. The star wrote: "Buzzing to have signed for Banbury Utd! Couldn't be happier to finally get back to doing something I love doing." The former islander added: "It's been a long time coming to get the boots back on, but I'm so pleased I did. It's been a tough couple of months putting my head down and working hard to get myself back fit, but I'm feeling good and looking forward to the season getting underway." It comes as Paige and Finley devastated their fans when news broke of their reported split in April. The 25-year-old singer Paige and Finley, 23, were the first-ever couple to win the first winter edition of the ITV2 dating show.
It seemed like they had been living an enviable life together, sharing the highs of their relationship from a lavish apartment in Manchester after bringing home the £50,000 prize fund. But the couple were reportedly not meant to be, with Paige understood to have moved back to Scotland where she is from.
A source told the Sun newspaper: "Paige and Finn had a really good run, but they are still super young and decided it wasn’t forever in the end. "Paige is spending some time back in Scotland while she works out what she wants to do next." Paige later addressed the split when Love Island's Aftersun host Maya Jama asked her what happened on the show.
