After eight weeks of fire pit chats, flirtatious one-liners and head turning bombshells bringing the drama, Love Island draws to a close tonight with one couple set to be crowned the overall winners. One couple still in contention for the coveted cash prize is Luca Bish and Gemma Owen, who have polarised the nation with their patented brand of marmite romance.
Love them or hate them, they’ve made a distinct impression on viewers at home, but as several eagle eyed fans have spotted, Love Island isn’t Luca’s first brush with reality TV, as he has also appeared on our screens in a Channel 4 documentary. The 23 old fishmonger who hails from Brighton, appeared in an episode of Night Coppers, an eight part series focusing on the police force in his hometown as they tackle the challenges policing the seaside city after dark.
Filmed prior to his arrival in the villa, one episode, which aired on last week, featured Luca’s distinctive appearance in one of the shots as he walked through the city dressed in a very festive inspired green coat with red trim. Grinning alongside his mates, the cheeky local could be seen enjoying a night out as the coppers around him tended to the more pressing task of battling a pair of elves that had gotten into a fight during the Christmas-themed episode.
