Love Island star Antigoni Buxton has made contact with Jacques O’Neill following his shock exit from the villa, revealing he is in a “good place”. The singer-songwriter, who had been on the show for eight days before she was booted from the villa, has reassured worried viewers that the rugby star is doing well after the pair caught up on FaceTime. Speaking exclusively to OK! at the Paul Strank Charitable Trust event in London, she said: “I spoke to him yesterday - I met his mum on FaceTime, she was lovely.
He seems like he’s in a really good place. It was just his time. I’m really proud of him for making that decision.” Concern has been mounting for Jacques, 23, since he tearfully quit the ITV2 show earlier this week after clashing with Adam Collard as the new bombshell tried to flirt with his partner, Welsh beauty Paige Thorne.
Gathering the Islanders around the firepit, Jacques stood beside Paige, 24, and said: “Lately, I feel like I can't be myself. I'm not going to fake it. I'm going to be leaving today.
“I just can't stick around and not be myself, it's not fair to me and it's definitely not fair to Paige. If that means removing myself from the situation and waiting for Paige, that's what I'm going to do.” It comes after he was left fuming when he accused Adam, 26, of speaking negatively about him behind his back. Gemma Owen told him: "He [Adam] has been proper sl****** you off." Speaking to Paige in the garden, Jacques then said: "Has Adam been sl****** me off? Who the f*** is he? He's just another geezer who’s already been on the show.
