Love Island star Amy Day has spoken out on her fellow islander Rachel Finni's comments on 37 year old Laura Whitmore's hosting skills, as she admitted she thought last year's highly-anticipated reunion show was "a bit dead and boring" and the cast had been "gutted" the presenter didn't "get to the interesting stuff". Amy's comments come after Rachel's calls for a different presenter such as Maya Jama or AJ Odudu to take the reins from Laura. Former islander Amy, who was embroiled in relationship drama with Hugo Hammond, was one of the main stars expected to create plenty of excitement in the reunion special, but mum-of-one Laura, who returns with a shocking twist in tonight's launch show, brushed over a chat between the stars.
Sharing her thoughts about the whole saga, Amy, 26, told the Daily Star: "I'm numb to it, I think it would be nice to have a presenter who throws herself into it. "That whole interview that came out of Rachel hit loads of the press, and it is true we are all a bit gutted. The reunion was a bit dead and boring. Previously, Rachel had offered her two cents on who she thought should be presenting Love Island, later prompting a response from Laura herself too.
