It’s hard to believe but Love Island 2022 is almost over and there’s just less than a week until this year’s series’ winners are announced. Each year the villa sees plenty of highs and lows as contestants put themselves out there on their quest to find true love.
And this year has been no different, so it's no wonder that viewers have had plenty of opinions about what they’ve seen and some have taken to Ofcom to complain. Reportedly, this year there have been 4,812 complaints made about Love Island including Aftersun so far, here’s a breakdown of what for.
Bullying claims One of the main things viewers have been complaining about this year is certain Islanders being bullied. A number of complaints were made when Jacques branded Ekin-Su “a headache” which led viewers on Twitter discussing feeling as though Ekin-Su was being bullied within the villa.
Ofcom confirmed to The Tab that a further 69 complaints were made to do with Jacques’ treatment of Paige. They came after he called her “pathetic” in one conversation after it was revealed his heart rate was increased most by ex girlfriend Gemma Owen during the heart racer challenge.The exchange left fans rushing to Twitter to call out Jacques’ behaviour and suggested he was impacting her “confidence” and was “toxic.” Movie night Movie night is always an intense part of the Love Island journey and this year’s saw almost 3,000 complaints.The main episode of Love Island received 2,481 Ofcom complaints, whilst Aftersun received a further 427.
