Hello Sunshine and Reese Witherspoon's Book Club is joining forces with book subscription company Literati to help spread some holiday cheer to children. Literati, Hello Sunshine and Reese’s Book Club have partnered to distribute 11,000 new books to The Book Foundation in Los Angeles, it was announced Friday.The Book Foundation aims to promote literacy by placing new books into the homes of low-come children.Since March, the Book Foundation has donated over 100,000 books.

“I again want to sound an alarm that we’ve been sounding for the last month,” said Los Angeles Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer.

“The worst is not behind us,” said Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti on Thursday. “The worst is right in front of us.”

A California judge issued a ruling on Tuesday that said Los Angeles County acted “arbitrarily” and without rational justification when it banned outdoor dining late last month, according to reports. "The Restaurant Closure Order is an abuse of the Department’s emergency powers, is not grounded in science, evidence, or logic, and should be adjudicated to be unenforceable as a matter of law," wrote Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James C.

Filming in Los Angeles has declined for the first time since the industry got the greenlight to film again amid the pandemic. According to FilmLA, month-over-month permit volume decreased in November, with application intake dropping nearly 8 percent to 813 permits from 880 permits in October.
