Lorraine Kelly welcomed iconic broadcaster Ken Bruce on her chat show on Thursday morning as she confessed she stole from his studio last year.
The Glasgow-born broadcaster announced he would be stepping down from his role on BBC Radio 2 earlier this year, leaving fans distraught, but is due to take up his new role on Greatest Hits Radio next week on April 3. Lorraine, 63, previously called Ken, 72, the 'best presenter on radio anywhere in the world' after he announced his departure from the BBC.
Appearing on Lorraine's ITV breakfast show on Thursday morning, Ken was left stunned after she confessed she stole an unusual item from his BBC studio. Lorraine told him: "Now I was lucky enough to be on the tracks of my years which I loved, it was so nice. But see when I was there, I nicked something from you."
She added: "It was just before Christmas." A dumfounded Ken responded: "What?"
Lorraine continued: "I saw it lying there on your desk and I had to nick it. Now every year it's on the top of my Christmas tree." Ken quipped: "Ohhh I think I know now. There I am."
"Sometimes you're on top of a bottle of booze, sometimes you're on top of my tree," the Scots star added. "Okay that's a little more painful but it's bearable," Ken said.
"You know when you've got something very precious when you put your Christmas decorations away. There's a little snowman that my daughter made me years ago when she was two and there's Ken," Lorraine said.
"They're put away in a special box with tissue paper."
Ken added: "I have to say Lorraine it's just a bit of paper," before she chimed in: "No but it's got your face on it."
"You could print it the next year," he joked. Lorraine then said: "No it's not the same. This was yours, it was on your desk.
