Logan Lerman Joins Joey King in Hulu Limited Series ‘We Were the Lucky Ones’

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Former network head Robert Greenblatt has set up a limited series for development at Hulu, Variety has confirmed. Greenblatt, via his first-look deal with Lionsgate Television, will executive produce a series adaptation of The Atlantic article “Death at a Penn State Fraternity” by Caitlin Flanagan. The project is currently titled “Death at Penn State.” Based on a true story, the series’ official logline states, “The limited series explores fraternity life and specifically tells the story of Tim Piazza who fought for his life for 12 hours before his Beta Theta Pi brothers called 911. By then it was too late.”

Television has dramatically evolved over the last ten-twenty years as it’s become the destination for adult stories, mid-budgeted dramas, and the filmmakers that have migrated across the threshold to tell those stories. With all that in mind, HBO is putting together two new series that star “Mare of Easttown” actress Kate Winslet with “The Palace” and “The Trust.” Certainly, this highlights HBO’s commitment to continue working with the Emmy-winning actress for the foreseeable future (also perhaps a sign that a “Mare Of Easttown” sequel isn’t coming anytime soon, but the two parties want to continue working together).

Former Hollyoaks actress Carley Stenson has been announced as the next Dancing On Ice 2023 contestant.The actress and West End star shared her excitement at the news ahead of her appearance on the show next year. Joe Otterson TV Reporter Matthias Schoenaerts will star opposite Kate Winslet in the upcoming HBO limited series “The Palace,” Variety has learned. The series was picked up at HBO in July. Per the official logline, it “tells the story of one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel.” Exact character details are being kept under wraps. Schoenaerts can currently be seen in the David O. Russell film “Amsterdam” in the role of Detective Lem Getweiler. Up next, he will be seen in the Canal+/Sky series “Django” and the feature “The Way of the Wind” from Terrence Malick. He also recently wrapped filming on the Netflix film “The Old Guard 2.” His past credits include films like “Rust and Bone,” “The Danish Girl,” and “Far from the Madding Crowd.”

Selome Hailu Logan Lerman has been cast in “We Were the Lucky Ones,” Hulu’s upcoming limited series based on Georgia Hunter’s novel of the same name. Inspired by a true story, the series follows a Polish Jewish family that is separated by World War II and determined to survive and reunite. Lerman plays Addy, the middle child, who is 25 years old at the start of the war. He is an adventurer who lives in Paris as an engineer while also enjoying budding success as a music composer, and has an ability to find common ground with dissimilar people and a talent to fix anything. Addy’s character is inspired by Hunter’s grandfather, who was a young man in the late 1930s. Lerman is best known for leading the “Percy Jackson” films as well as “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” with additional credits including “The Butterfly Effect,” “Hoot,” “3:10 to Yuma” and “Indignation.” Most recently, he has appeared in the film “Bullet Train” and Amazon Prime Video series “Hunters.” He is represented by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and attorney Bob Wallerstein.
